Eagles Chiefs Recap 20-17

Eagles’ defense clutches up to beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead, 20-17

The Eagles went into Arrowhead for a Super Bowl rematch and walked out with a 20-17 win, thanks to a defense that said “enough of the bullshit” and slammed the door on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Jalen Hurts threw for a whopping 101 yards and Saquon Barkley got held to 88 on the ground, but none of that mattered because the defense carried the Eagles to victory. They held KC to under 300 yards, stuffed them on fourth down, and came up with the only turnover of the night when Andrew Mukuba picked off Mahomes at the goal line in the fourth.

Andrew Mukuba First Career INT

Hurts and Barkley each had a touchdown run, Jake Elliott drilled two bombs from 58 and 51 yards, and the Birds pushed their win streak to seven straight and 17 of their last 18. Oh, and they’ve now beaten the Chiefs three times in a row.

Saquon Barkley Rush TD

Mahomes threw for 187 passing yards. Nothing doing without Rashee Rice (suspended) and Xavier Worthy (injured). He ran one in himself, but when Travis Kelce let a ball bounce off his hands and into Mukuba’s, that was the dagger.

Chiefs fans were halfway to their trucks before Tyquan Thornton finally caught a prayer for a 49-yard touchdown late in the fourth.

Game Notes:

  • Gritty win at Arrowhead.
  • Jake Elliott is casually bombing FGs from 50+
  • Mukuba’s pick play of the game.
  • Chiefs tried their own tush push and got stuffed.
  • Jordan Davis limped off but came back. Crisis averted.

The Chiefs dynasty is dead. They are now 0-2 for the first time since 2014, Andy Reid’s second year in KC.
