Highlights: The NL East Champion Philadelphia Phillies were BUZZIN’ last night in LA after securing the division title

The Philadelphia Phillies turned the Dodgers closet visiting locker room into a beer-soaked war zone last night after clinching the National League East in extras.

Back-to-back NL East champs, the earliest clinch in franchise history. Since the start of August, the Phillies have the best record in baseball (29-14). They’ve won 11 of 14 this month and currently stand 5½ games ahead of the Dodgers for the No. 2 seed.

Last night had everything. Kyle Schwarber blasted his 53rd home run, Bryce Harper answered Mookie Betts with a go-ahead bomb of his own, and JT Realmuto lifted the decisive sac fly in extras.

David Robertson closed it out in the bottom of the 10th and The Fightins headed into the locker room to celebrate. Here are all the highlights from last night’s party.

Soak it all in…

Rob Thomson set the tone right away. He looked Realmuto dead in the eyes and asked, “How many we got left?” J.T. didn’t blink. “Whatever it takes.” Boom. That’s not a quote. That’s a mission statement.

Then there’s Bryce Harper, our fearless, beer-bonging savior. Video hits the timeline and it looks like he’s ripping a funnel like he’s pledging Delta Phi Red October.

John Middleton made sure to have a few cold ones last night with the boys too. This guy wants his fucking trophy back and if the Phillies can manage to close out the year as hot as they started September, there’s always a fighting chance that Middleton gets it.

Gotta respect the organization’s billionaire owner hopping on the funnel. This wasn’t a “sip politely and laugh with the boys” kind of way either. He went full throat like he’s been waiting his entire life for this. Phillies fans used to beg their owners to care. Ours is bonging Bud Lights with the squad. That’s culture.

Harrison Bader deserves his flowers too. The guy showed up at the deadline and immediately became the glue of this team. He’s getting knocks, he’s flying around the bases, and he’s drowning in Budweiser like he’s been here since day one. Absolute steal.

“We want to end the year on a good note, get that one or two seed, and be able to do this three more times.”

That’s music to anyone who hammered the over on season wins. It’s also nightmare fuel for every Mets fan watching from their mom’s couch.

Speaking of teammates, Alec Bohm sacrificed his mangled shoulder to steady Stubbs’ funnel. That’s brotherhood. That’s October baseball. Shoutout Stubbs.

The guy’s only on this roster because he’s the Chief Vibes Officer. Could’ve sent the playlist from Lehigh Valley, but nah, he’s here chugging beers and screaming like a lunatic. Exactly where he belongs.

David Robertson, 40 years old, funneling beers like it’s freshman orientation was quite the visual. The only downside is the fact that the Dodgers’ visiting clubhouse is the size of a studio apartment and TMac had to attempt to complete interviews while 30 grown men were shotgunning beers behind him.

So here we are. NL East wrapped up on September 15. The Phillies have three more celebrations to go. NLDS, NLCS, World Series.

Judging by last night’s beer-soaked war zone, the funnels are only getting bigger. Someone better order the industrial-sized one.

Because this isn’t just about clinching. This is about Philly planting the flag. The Mets folded. The Braves are irrelevant. The Dodgers got dogwalked in their own house.

This is Red October, baby. And it’s just getting started.
