There’s a new favorite in the clubhouse to win the 2025 World Series
Well, it finally happened. The Dodgers aren’t the World Series betting favorites anymore. After sitting on top of the odds board since the morning after their 2024 championship, Los Angeles just got bumped down a peg by none other than the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Phillies rolled into Dodger Stadium this week, took the first two games of a three-game set, and forced oddsmakers to wake up to reality.
BetOnline.ag now has the Phillies sitting at +475 to win it all, with the Dodgers sliding back to +525. Behind them, the Brewers and Blue Jays are tied at +700, and the Mariners, who have been red hot, slot in fifth at +900.
The Phillies look like the team best positioned for October.
Wild to say given their injuries but that series win in Los Angeles swung the odds because it put Philly right in the mix for home-field advantage in the National League playoffs.
The Brewers technically hold the NL’s best record but I think every baseball fan is in agreement that no one is scared of anyone coming out of the NL Central, right?
Phillies trail the Brewers in the NL by 2.5 Games

The Phillies are only a couple games back and playing like the most complete team in baseball. If it comes down to another October clash with the Dodgers to punch their tickets to the World Series, Vegas is telling you who they trust more right now.
Don’t get me wrong, the Dodgers are still the Dodgers. They have a stacked lineup, top-heavy rotation, of course, are defending champs.
I’m just noticing too many cracks down the stretch. The NL isn’t theirs to steamroll through this time around. The Brewers and Cubs are already sitting with better records, and the Phillies keep proving they can beat anyone in their way.
Meanwhile, the American League doesn’t even have a 90-win team yet. Toronto’s leading the charge with 89 wins, while the Yankees and Tigers hover in the mid-80s. The Yankees reached the World Series last year before bowing out to LA, but right now, the AL doesn’t look nearly as daunting as the gauntlet in the NL.
Phillies World Series Window is Wide Open
Their last World Series title came in 2008, and they’ve been knocking on the door ever since with a Fall Classic appearance in 2022, another deep run in 2023, and last year’s collapse against the Mets still burning in the back of their minds.
This year, the odds are finally catching up to the reality that The Fightins are for October, and they’re the team everyone else has to to go through.
