Deion Sanders reveals shocking details about the Eagles and Shedeur Sanders during the 2025 NFL Draft
Deion Sanders couldn’t help himself this week. On the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast, Coach Prime casually dropped that the Eagles called about Shedeur Sanders during the draft. Jason Kelce’s face said it all — surprise mixed with that classic “wait, what?”
Now, look. I’m all for Howie Roseman doing his homework on every quarterback that could slip through the cracks. That’s why the guy is the best GM in football. But let’s be real — the Eagles absolutely dodged a massive distraction bullet here.
You don’t need Shedeur Sanders hanging around in Philly while Jalen Hurts is cemented as one of the top quarterbacks in the league. I don’t care if it’s the fifth round or undrafted free agent territory — this city doesn’t need the circus that comes with the Sanders brand.
Deion Sanders on the Eagles interest in his son
This Eagles culture is already built different. Arguably the best in the NFL. From the locker room to the coaching staff, it’s about accountability, toughness, and putting the team first. Adding Shedeur Sanders into that mix? Doesn’t make sense at all.
So yeah, Deion let the “cat out of the bag” about Philly’s interest. Cool story. But thank god Howie went in another direction and is always riding with our boy Tanner McKee as the backup.
That’s the kind of quiet, developmental backup quarterback you want behind Jalen Hurts. Not a headline machine waiting to turn your franchise into a reality show.
The Eagles don’t want or need distractions. They want Lombardi trophies.
