The nightmare matchup Dave Roberts dreaded most is here: Red-hot Phillies in October
Red October is so close I can taste it. We got one step closer on Wednesday night, as Dave Roberts and the Dodgers beat the Reds, setting up the NLDS matchup between LA and the Philadelphia Phillies.
This, for more reasons than one, is the Dodgers’ worst nightmare. Their worst fears have been realized and I for one, couldn’t be happier.
Earlier this season when LA was in Philadelphia, Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts was asked about potentially facing Philly in the playoffs. His response — pure fear.
Dave Roberts on facing Red October Phillies: “I don’t necessarily want to talk it into existence”
I love the smell of fear in an opponent. It releases this animalistic side in me that, quite frankly, I’m not very proud of. But since it’s Red October and the Eagles are 4-0, I feel much better about letting it out.
These guys don’t want to see the Phils. Can you really blame them? Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Shohei is gonna need a tall glass of gin at Live! Casino when we’re through with him. Saturday can’t come soon enough.
