Katie Porter

Who would have thought that California gubernatorial hopeful Katie Porter was a total psychopath?

Who would have thought there was a whole world outside of Philadelphia? I just got done writing up a post on Billie Eilish getting assaulted as she walked on stage in Miami and now we have some politician named Kate Porter running for Governor of California while acting like a total psychopath.

For those keeping track. That’s one blog today on Pop Music and another on Politics. I’m just trying to take the advice given by our guy Cass to try to enjoy something else outside of sports. So far, so good. Next up will be something on religion. We’re only going deeper.

Anyways, when that first clip of California gubernatorial hopeful Katie Porter screaming at one of her staffers hit the internet, I figured it was just another politician having a bad day.

Lord knows we have those here in Philly right?

Apparently that’s not even close to being the case. Katie Porter is an absolute psychopath and yells at everyone, all of the time.

In case you missed it, the original video shows Porter absolutely lighting up one of her staffers who somehow drifted about 30 feet behind her while she was on a Zoom call with the Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm.

Classic “I’m on camera, you’re embarrassing me” meltdown energy. But apparently, this wasn’t some isolated freakout. She’s been out here cutting WWE-style promos on anyone who crosses her – staffers, journalists, probably even the poor janitor if he made too much noise vacuuming near her office.

Katie Porter yells at Staffer:

So we have that video and as I kept digging into anything that wasn’t Philly Sports related, turns out, there’s a million other videos of Katie Porter acting like a lunatic.

Katie Porter also lost it because a CBS reporter asked her the following question:

“What do you say to the 40 percent of California voters who voted for Trump?”

Reasonable question, right? A normal candidate might say something like, “I’ll be a governor for all Californians.” Not Katie Porter. She snapped back with, “How would I need them to win, ma’am?”

You could feel her press team collectively rethinking every life choice that led them there. When the reporter dared to ask a follow-up (because that’s literally her job), Porter acted like she’d just been accused of treason.

God forbid someone actually asks Katie Porter questions in an interview.

There’s another clip where Porter completely loses it over the lighting on a Zoom call. When you look like that, I honestly get why that might be an issue but just like a staffer getting in the background of your other Zoom call, there is no lighting that’s going to fix that face. Horrific, really.

Maybe that’s mean. I’m not sure. This is why I stay out of politicis for the most part, but since Katie Porter is the most evil woman in California, I feel like it’s okay to call her absolutely hideious. Anyways, check this clip out. She’s losing it over the lights. Nothing to do with policy or any type of scandal… just lighting.

Then there’s the truly grim one. I know. You’re probably wondering how this could possibly get worse for Katie Porter but now we have a clip of her firing a staffer who had just gone through a personal tragedy.

The woman’s kids suddenly had no one to care for them while Porter had COVID, and Porter’s response was basically, “That’s your problem.” Zero compassion. Zero humanity. Just ice-cold detachment.

Katie Porter might genuinely be one of the most miserable, cruel people in American politics and that’s saying something.

Her whole “Suburban Mom with Receipts” shtick plays well on cable news, but when the questions turn back on her, the whiteboard vanishes, the Sharpie runs dry, and she’s one condescending, psychotic sigh away from completely losing it.

Again, this isn’t even political for me. I don’t care if she’s a Democrat or Republican. I just have no clue how people like Katie Porter get into positions of power. Who looks at this kind of behavior and goes, “Yep, that’s leadership material right there”?

Katie Porter is a lunatic. She doesn’t come across as passionate or strong in any sense of the words. She’s the human embodiment of nasty and somehow, these are the people running for governor.

Then again, she’s a politician so maybe this is on me for expecting anything else.

Shame on me for assuming that someone who talks about accountability and empathy might actually practice either of those things.

At this point, maybe that’s just the formula for getting ahead in politics. If Katie Porter simply yells loud enough, blame everyone else but herself for being a miserable, cold-hearted bitch, and fake-smile when she knows the cameras are on, then who gives a shit about human decency in the end.

But seriously… if this is the best we’ve got, no wonder everything feels broken. Katie Porter wants to run the most chaotic state in the country and judging by these clips, she might just be the perfect candidate.
