Phillies Crash Out: List of free agents and why JT Realmuto and Ranger Suarez should be the main focus this offseason
The Phillies aren’t even 24 hours removed from watching their season implode on an Orion Kerkering error, and the reality already feels colder than a November morning at Citizens Bank Park. The “Golden Era” window we kept hyping is now covered in cracks, and a big chunk of this roster is about to hit the market.
Phillies Free Agents List Isn’t Pretty
Once the World Series ends, this group is up for grabs. Here are some quick thoughts on each of them. I’m leaning towards JT Realmuto and Ranger Suarez getting new contracts to remain in Philly and letting everyone else walk, unfortunately.
- J.T. Realmuto – Small deal, would welcome the return.
- Kyle Schwarber – Expensive luxury more than a necessity.
- Ranger Suárez – Top of the list to get a new contact, in my opinion.
- Max Kepler – The damage has been done.
- Jordan Romano – Absolutely not.
- David Robertson – Just retire already.
- Tim Mayza – Solid depth arm.
- Walker Buehler – Late-season reclamation project. Intriguing upside.
- Lou Trivino – Another bullpen flyer.

Options On the Table
- José Alvarado (Club Option): Alvarado royally fucked this team in October but the fact remains that he’s still the kind of weapon you just pick up without even blinking.
- Harrison Bader (Mutual Option): One of the few bright spots down the stretch. The guy brought energy and defense this team sorely needed. Problem is, mutual options are basically handshake breakups. Both sides have to want it, and they rarely do.
4 Years Was Enough. Time For Sweeping Changes.
The Phillies likely just lost the core of what was supposed to be their championship roster. They had four years to get it done. They did not. Harper and Turner will still be here, but with Realmuto and Schwarber both potentially gone, plus Suárez dangling, this winter could redefine everything.

That’s the cruel part. This team was built for October, and they flamed out in the same round for the second straight year. Now Dave Dombrowski has to figure out whether to reload around Harper and Turner or admit that the window slammed shut after another ghosting at the plate ended with Kerkering botching a throw to the backstop.
