Dodgers Brewers Karen Call ICE

“Brewers Karen” goes viral after exchange with Dodgers fan in Game 2 of the NLCS

During Game 2 of the NLCS between the Brewers and Dodgers, a heated exchange in the stands turned into a full-blown internet moment when a Brewers fan, now identified as Shannon Kobylarczyk, shouted, “Real men drink beer, pussy!” at a Dodgers fan and then followed it up with the immortal line: “You know what, let’s call ICE.”

That one sentence was enough to launch a thousand retweets, and it didn’t take long for Kobylarczyk’s life to change dramatically. Within 24 hours, her employer, Manpower Group, confirmed she was “no longer with the organization.” She also got a lifetime ban from Brewers games and resigned from her position on the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin board of directors

Fucking brutal and I have to be honest, I’m not sure the punishment matches the crime.

I’ll start with the obvious. In today’s climate, threatening someone with an ICE phone call is a bad move. The second you do that, you’re in for a world of trouble.

While I truly believe it was just the woman talking shit back to the Dodgers fan, it was a dumb comeback and she should know better.

Her first comment was elite. Telling this dude, clearly looking to make a scene by antagonizing Brewers fans on the road in Milwaukee, while recording the entire thing, that he’s a pussy for not drinking beer is hilarious.

Again, she got herself into trouble by bringing up ICE.

Again, it appears that she was just combating fire with fire. It wasn’t racist to say “Call ICE” and it was clearly said as a comeback to the this guys own behavior.

Still can’t happen in today’s world.

The Dodgers Fan…

According to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Dodgers fan is Ricardo Fosado. After Kobylarczyk’s comment, she reportedly called security, and he was the one escorted out of the ballpark.

Again, that part actually makes sense. He was the one who caused the entire situation.

Ricardo Fosado later told reporters he’s a U.S. citizen and war veteran, and that while the back-and-forth with fans had been playful earlier, things “crossed a line” once the ICE remark was made.

Fucking spare me with that comment, brother. Thank you for your service. You’re a U.S. citizen and a war veteran. You let a “Call ICE” comment bother you that much? No comments on your behavior?

Got it.

The fact that Fosado was antagonizing this woman and then ran right to social media with the video, posted it, called this woman racist, and ultimately got her fired from her job is completely ridiculous.

It gets even worse when he runs to the newspaper and plays victim while telling everyone that he’s a U.S. citizen and a war veteran. That woman was right in classifying him as a “pussy” from the jump.

Who picks a fight with a bunch of Brewers fans, where outside of the woman in question, none were even giving him a second of their time?

I can’t stress it enough that the Brewers fan should not have engaged with this dude at all, let alone saying something as dumb as ICE while trying to slap his phone out of his hand.

It’s still fair to question Fosado’s actions and behavior while also asking why security wasn’t there to begin with. You have some drunk Dodgers fans looking for a fight while filming everything in the middle of the aisle. No one was going to be like “hey man, you’re in the visitors ballpark, maybe chill out.”

Lesson learned I guess but both points are definitely true.

None of this should have happened in the first place. That Dodgers fan was acting like an idiot. Brewers fan responded like an idiot.

Now we’re here because the dude posted the video online, went to the media, and made a whole fucking stink about it. The result is that Shannon Kobylarczyk lost her job and was forced to step down from the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin board of directors.

Is that really what the endgame was here? This entire situation was blown completely out of proportion. I still don’t believe the crime actually matches the punishment either.

How anyone could look at this and side with the Dodgers fan is wild. If you talk shit and make a scene, then be prepared to deal with the response. His behavior was cowardly. The account above saying “STOP STARIN’ KAREN” is just as bad.

This dude was literally in this woman’s face with a camera. He got exactly what he was looking for and in the end, this woman’s life is now ruined.

Just doesn’t make sense. Whatever.
