WATCH: Referee heroically shields Patrick Mahomes, throws instant roughing the passer flag

Eagles fans have been getting hit with NFL favoritism allegations a lot this season, but we must not forget Patrick Mahomes‘ stranglehold over NFL officiating. Last night, we got a clear cut example of how eager these refs are to protect their sweet, sweet Patrick.

On a routine sack from number 95 on the Commanders, you can see him gently toss Mahomes to the side, clearly laying off as Patrick flails himself onto the turf. The ref was having none of it. With his eyes wide and his heart full, he bravely stepped in to protect Mahomes, attempting to break up the brutal attack on his quarterback.

Once the official realized he had failed at stopping the defender from tackling Patrick Mahomes, he drew his yellow flag and tossed it in the with vigor, as if to gesture his loyalty to Mahomes.

Patrick Mahomes is no obligated to give this referee a kiss for his loyalty. Those are the rules.

You know what, I’m just going to say it. This is gay. Some may say retarded and gay, even.

I mean, trying to literally break up a tackle attempt on the quarterback is next level favoritism. I’ve never seen something so disgusting in my life, and I was around for the early days of the internet.

But as we know, NFL officiating is an abomination. A stain on the human existence. Roger Goodell hinted at the possibility of AI coming in to play with officiating a week ago, and I think it’s time to expedite that process.
