WATCH: Allen Iverson blesses the Sixers backcourt to the high-heavens, officially throwing myself and the rest of this fanbase back into the trenches

The Sixers backcourt has been making waves this season and now, it’s officially minted. The Answer himself, Allen Iverson, just blessed Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, and I literally have goosebumps typing this.

And no, it’s not because it’s Halloween and Drew Smith was dressed up as a giant inflatable chicken. It’s because a team I once was completely done with, has now dragged me back in to the mud. I believe yet again, that the Philadelphia 76ers have what it takes this year to do something magical.

I don’t know about you all but when someone hurts me really bad, I typically don’t give them another chance. TLL itself has been the ultimate grudge machine. We have been beaten down, de-platformed, and completely disregarded since we started this website back in 2020. Everyone told us that there were already too many Philly sports websites and we would never make it. Other media outlets laughed at our opinions to the point that we were basically blacklisted from the “group” of websites that wanted nothing more than to see us fail.

Of course, none of that turned out to be the reality of the situation. The Liberty Line, even without sports to cover for the better part of 2020, turned into a machine. The other “companies” that looked down upon us don’t even exist anymore. We turned down acquisition offer after acquisition offer. We have stayed true to form and have done things our way.

This experience has certainly helped me in a lot of different aspects of life, and when it comes to my Philly sports teams, it has made me battle-tested, ready to go to war and get into the trenches against all odds.

No matter how much damage has been caused, it’s just in my DNA now, and to circle back completely, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe are the perfect reason as to why I’m back in on the Sixers. Whatever it takes.

Allen Iverson on the Sixers backcourt

Obviously, Allen Iverson knows a thing or two about elite guards. The guy was the blueprint. So you can bet he’s loving what he’s seeing out of Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe right now.

The Sixers are 4-0, sitting at the top of the East, and the backcourt is the reason why. Maxey’s averaging a league-high 37.5 points per game, hitting nearly 47% from deep, and dishing out 8.3 assists a night. That’s MVP-type production, plain and simple.

Then you have VJ Edgecombe who’s averaging 22.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.5 assists while shooting lights-out from three. The kid plays with a hunger that we all love and appreciate, similar to the likes of Allen Iverson himself.

Real Recognize Real

As a guard who literally carried this franchise, Allen Iverson’s respect means everything. And you can tell he sees something in this group. The craziest part about this total momentum shift around this team is, suddenly I find myself sitting at work beyond excited for them to tip-off tonight vs. those damn Celtics tonight.

You think I’ll be worrying about giving candy out to children tonight?

Absolutely not. Not in this economy. I’m currently trying to figure out how I’m going to watch College Football tomorrow because of this whole Youtube-Disney Fiasco.

But that’s a different story for a different day. On the bright side, whether you have cable or a streaming service, our beloved 76ers will be on the local channels.
