WATCH: Commanders fans left wondering what happened to last year as they exit early during Seahawks blowout
Unfortunately for Washington Commanders fans, that “new era” of football appears to be over before it really even started.
Throughout the offseason, all we heard from Commanders fans was how their franchise officially “arrived” even though they were stuck celebrating one playoff run that ended in embarrassing fashion at the hands of the Eagles in the NFC Championship.
Commanders were praising Jayden Daniels like he was the second coming of Patrick Mahomes and that they were gonna “run the NFC East.”
Well, that was all nonsense, wasn’t it? Last night was the nail in the coffin. Commanders fans headed for the exits before halftime on Sunday Night Football. It was so ugly, they couldn’t even wait for the fourth quarter to wave the white flag.

Fans are leaving. There’s 4:34 left in the second quarter. Could be leaving to get beer but that’s a lot of people heading to the beer line. pic.twitter.com/NCQIZIHiIU

With 4:34 left in the first half, fans at Northwest Stadium in Landover were already filing out like they were trying to beat DC traffic. It was 28-0 before most people even finished their first beer.
Seattle scored touchdowns on four straight drives. Sam Darnold went absolutely nuclear, he was 16-for-16 for 282 yards and four touchdowns.
Jayden Daniels Hype Train Has Derailed
Remember when Commanders fans were calling Jayden Daniels the “next big thing”?
Yeah, about that…
Halfway through the season, Washington sits at 3-5, and Daniels has already cost them a game with a brutal fumble. He’s looked shaky, hesitant, and definitely not like the savior everyone down there was hyping him up to be.
It’s almost as if claiming you were the new kings of the NFC East was a bit premature…
Meanwhile in Philly… Business as Usual
While Washington fans are fighting traffic before halftime, the Eagles are sitting at 6-2, holding first place in the NFC East and first place in the NFC overall, fresh off a Super Bowl win and a complete demolition of these same Commanders in last year’s NFC Championship Game.

Different worlds. Different standards. As a wise man once said (Meek Mill), “there’s levels to this shit.”
