Howie Roseman speaks on targeting Myles Garrett and being fearless when building the Eagles’ super team

Howie Roseman isn’t ducking anything, and shocker, he didn’t back down when the media tried poking around about whether he made calls for Myles Garrett at the deadline.

The Eagles already landed Jaelan Phillips, but let’s not act like Howie didn’t at least check in on the biggest fish on the market before that. Myles Garrett rumors were flying all year, and every insider pretty much confirmed the Eagles were sniffing around before Cleveland locked him down long-term. Then when the Browns went into full Browns-mode again this season, the Garrett talk crept right back up — because that’s what happens when the most aggressive GM in football sees even a crack in the door.

And to absolutely no one’s surprise, Howie basically confirmed it without confirming it.

Howie Roseman isn’t wired like other GMs

Here’s the money quote. When asked about chasing stars like Garrett, Howie said:

“I feel like when there’s opportunities to be aggressive for the right players, we’re not going to sit on our hands. I don’t think that you have great success without taking great risks at times.”

This is the same guy who traded for AJ Brown on draft night. The same guy who rebuilt a Super Bowl roster in six months after the first one aged out. The man wakes up in the morning, eats breakfast, and immediately tries to rob another GM blind. That’s just who he is.

He doubled down again:

“I won’t live with regret… If we feel passionate about something, if we think the value’s right, we’re not going to be afraid to pull the trigger.”

That’s the good stuff right there. There is no version of Howie Roseman that plays it safe. He knows the window is open. He knows he’s got a quarterback, an offensive core, and now a pass-rush rotation that can go win a title. So yeah — he looked at Garrett. Why wouldn’t he? If Cleveland blinked even once, Garrett would’ve been getting measured for midnight green.

This is why Philly trusts Howie Roseman

Look, you can talk cap space, picks, futures, whatever. None of that matters when the confetti is falling. That’s literally Howie’s philosophy — go get players who tilt the field, deal with the receipts later.

Cleveland never budged. Dallas wasn’t dumb enough to send Micah Parsons to Philly. Fine. The Eagles still walked away with a legit difference-maker off the edge right before the stretch run. That’s why other teams panic and the Eagles reload.

If you’re a GM and Howie Roseman calls, you should probably just send him to voicemail. It never ends well for the other guy.

Super Bowl windows don’t stay open forever. Other front offices talk about being aggressive. Howie Roseman actually does it.

And that’s why he runs this league like it’s his personal fantasy franchise and everyone else is just hoping their roster button isn’t grayed out. Philly’s GM doesn’t live with regret — he lives at the deadline.

The rest of the NFL? They just live in fear of the next call.
