WATCH: LeMoyne-Owen College player’s epic dunk fail goes viral after faking an injury
College basketball tipped-off last night and instead of taking the easy route and writing about Koa Peat or AJ Dybantsa, we’re diving head first into the mud to check out one of the biggest dunk fails maybe of all time, courtesy of LeMoyne-Owen’s basketball program.
Honestly, I really would consider myself a basketball savant (among other things) but I have never heard of LeMoyne-Owen. It’s a shame too, because they hail from the great state of Tennessee, a team I often (foolishly) claim as my football team.
Up until last night, I never heard of the pride of Memphis (outside of Memphis) LeMoyne-Owen but god damn, I’m glad we crossed paths.

Sweet Jesus. Where do we even begin?
I mean the kid carried and/or traveled then missed the wide-open dunk. From there he appeared to fake an injury while the crowd wanted nothing more than to let him hear about the events leading up to it.
On the bright side, not everything here was a disaster. Who ever was the camera man put on an absolute master class at capturing this moment. The immediate pan to the crowd where they were able to capture the parents stunned looks on their face and the commentator’s reaction in the background is just gold.
Speaking of the South…A Bass Pro Shop brawl in Odessa, Texas was a real-life redneck royal rumble over the weekend.
LeMoyne-Owen Crowd Reaction: Check out this dude…

Gotta tell you, small-school basketball is the best. Mix in a few hoop fans from the south and that tiny gym turns into an all-out roast at the first sign of blood in the water.
I guess if you have a soul, you wouldn’t go out of your way to identify the kid who missed the dunk. I don’t have a soul. At all. Even I didn’t waste my time because frankly, I feel awful for the kid. That’s going to be hard to live down.
You gotta come back and start slammin’ on dudes any time you touch the ball. Maybe snag a few technicals and let the crowd hear it. I’m not sure. It’s a tough hill to climb out of the gutter, something I know all too well from non-basketball related activities.
Either way, you can’t have grown-ass men in the crowd mocking you for faking an injury after missing the wide open dunk. That’s brutal brother. Good luck walking the sacred grounds of LeMoyne-Owen campus after that one. Gotta be tough.
