Dillon Brooks woke up on Friday and did what Dillon Brooks does best. He cut another check to the NBA. The league announced that Brooks was fined $25,000 for a “lewd gesture” during the Suns’ blowout win over the Pacers.

The crime was all too familiar here in Philadelphia. Brooks delivered a full-on crotch chop after hitting an and-one over Ben Sheppard. He hit the deck, saw the ball drop through the net, and immediately went full DX like it was 1999.

Phoenix smoked Indiana 133-98 and Brooks was legitimately awesome, dropping 32 points on 12-of-18 shooting. It was probably the cleanest game he has played in years, which made the WWE celebration even funnier.

The fine was coming the second he crossed his arms and pointed down.

Joel Embiid just got hit for the same move last month and the league basically has a “no pelvic theatrics” policy at this point. Embiid was fined $50,000 because he is a repeat offender and because the NBA knows he will complain about it on the record.

Brooks has been here before. Technicals, profanity, over-the-top antics. If the league had a rewards program for fines, he would have enough points for a free trip to Mexico by now. At least this time he earned it after a 30-piece.
