Sometimes, the jokes write themselves. In regards to Dianna Russini, the jokes have been flowing in since she began her tirade against AJ Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles.

On Saturday, Dianna Russini clocked in for for her weekly AJ tweet, telling her followers, “There’s no more guessing about whether A.J. Brown is happy playing in this Eagles offense. He told the world he’s miserable.”

The reporting around AJ Brown has gotten downright weird. Russini has led the charge, but let’s be honest — she’s just doing what she’s told. It’s literally in the job description. Sports journalism has never truly been about giving fans useful insight. And while I’d love to sit here and say Russini is single-handedly ruining sports reporting — because she is without question one of the most egregious culprits — the truth is she’s just a product of a broken system.

Clicks and engagement beat actual journalism ten times out of ten. She’s found her niche and she’s milking it. Scroll through her Twitter when you have a spare minute — 75% of it is Eagles content. Russini found her gold mine and won’t stop drilling until the well is completely barren.

At least this time, she got community-noted. Small wins are still wins, and I’ll take any W I can get.
