Tone deaf Ja’Marr Chase is mad refs stopped the game to celebrate Myles Garrett’s record-breaking sack, apparently thinks play should pause for his 10th catch too

Ja’Marr Chase, read the room, boss.

Following Sunday’s Bengals-Browns game — the one where Myles Garrett broke the single-season sack record — Chase bitched to reporters. Not because his team stinks and he’ll be sitting at home for the postseason, but because the referees stopped play to acknowledge Garrett’s historic moment.

It came off completely tone deaf. Chase said the game should stop whenever he records 10 catches, which, in his mind, somehow carries the same weight as breaking a 20-plus-year record.

Ja’Marr Chase sounding like a crybaby for two minutes straight:

Maybe it’s just a rivalry thing. Who knows. Regardless, anyone who’s ever played the game of football should show Myles Garrett some respect. The game is bigger than you and always will be. When someone breaks a record many thought was unbreakable, you celebrate it.

At the end of the day, you all work for the same company — you’re just in different wings of the office.

Being a dickhead about it and saying the game should stop whenever you’re stat padding isn’t just disrespectful to Garrett, it’s disrespectful to the game itself. Maybe I’m being melodramatic, but I love this sport. Be a man about it and accept what happened, whether you like it or not.

For as great as Chase is, he hasn’t achieved anything that’s going in the NFL history books. No single-season records. No championships. So before you start talking shit about a monumental moment in league history, take a look in the mirror and figure out how to reach those heights. Until then, shut up.
