Situation to Monitor: Spike Eskin says Jason Dumas glazes Jalen Hurts cleats, Dumas responds indirectly with a racially charged tweet

In a story that absolutely no one gives a shit about, the most hated man on Philly sports talk radio, Spike Eskin, is back on the timeline saying dumb shit, this time about 6 ABC sports reporter Jason Dumas.

Jason Dumas indirectly “claps back” with a racially charged tweet

I've seen two of my colleagues now throw subtle or in the most recent case, not so subtle shade at me for shining at light on Jalen's choice of cleats.

The undertones are always crazy. Just know I'll always show up and embrace the culture in these spaces — it's not for them✊🏿

I don’t like Jason Dumas because back in the day, he was just tweeting out shit about Ben Simmons from San Francisco and we got into a lot of back-and-forth about the inaccuracies in his tweets. They were all bullshit, mainly the ones saying that fans were protesting outside of the Sixers practice facility in Camden. 

Why is Jason Dumas lying about several organized groups planning to boo Ben Simmons if he showed up to 76ers training camp?

That said, I definitely do not like anything to do with Spike Eskin or 94.1 WIP, so this presents a difficult situation on which side to take but luckily for readers of The Liberty Line, I’ll navigate it for all of us. 

If Jason Dumas wanted to call out 94.1 WIP for talking shit, then he should have tagged Jack Fritz and Spike Eskin directly and told them both to fuck off. If not, then it looks like he’s just going to Twitter and firing off shit so followers and anyone who sees it gives him a pat on the back.

It’s not the worst move, because any time you throw shade directly or indirectly at 94.1 WIP and more specifically Spike Eskin it plays. Reading the comments under his tweet show that. No one likes Spike Eskin so you can always be safe by taking whatever side he’s not on. Period.

Still, Jason Dumas not mentioning either host by name and then running with some bullshit about “embracing the culture” and somehow making Jalen Hurts’ cleats a racial thing, saying “its not for them” is pretty fucking lame. We’re all football fans.

The entire world likes Michael Jordan. Eagles fans are always interested in what gear that Hurts and literally anyone else is wearing when it has to do with their team. I know that first hand because the whole “two shoes” craze from season’s past and the Jordan “Love Hurts” hoodies are almost impossible to purchase. 

Now we go back to Spike Eskin, who I want to be clear, is the biggest loser on the planet and a cancer to any culture or conversation when discussing Philadelphia sports. The whole “Insider of the Year” thing is a shitty bit and took me a while to even understand.

It’s not funny and honestly, pretty weird.

I also don’t understand why he gives a shit about Jason Dumas tweeting about Jalen Hurts cleats in the first place. Again, people like the apparel and gear side of things. Overall, no one wants an award, real or fake, from someone like Spike Eskin.

Spike Eskin sucks and it pains me to see Jack Fritz get roped into the bullshit. Anyways, that’s pretty much it. I guess the final verdict is fuck both side of this argument and Go Birds.
