WATCH: Jalen Hurts backs AJ Brown, kicks Kevin Patullo questions up to ownership

As players cleaned out their lockers following the disastrous loss to San Fran, reporters unloaded on Jalen Hurts with every question they’d been sitting on all season. It was their last chance to get him, so I can’t even blame them for it.

Right before things wrapped up, Hurts got hit with the two questions everyone actually cares about: Do you want Kevin Patullo back, and do you want A.J. Brown back? His answers told us pretty much everything we needed to know.

“It’s too soon to think about that. I put my trust in Howie, Nick, and Mr. Lurie. AJ and I have talked, we’re in a great place. Maybe y’all can talk to him and ask.”

Translation: I love AJ. I want to run it back with my boy. As for Patullo, you know I can’t say what I actually want to say, so I’ll punt that one straight to ownership.

Pretty cut and dry, if you ask me.

I know a lot of Eagles fans want to run AJ out of town after this season. On some level, I get it. But the money the team would have to eat to cut or trade him makes it a non-starter for me. Per Spotrac, if the Eagles traded A.J. Brown before June 1, they’d be on the hook for $43.5 million in dead cap in 2026, taking a $20.1 million cap hit — the fourth-largest single-season dead cap hit in NFL history. Not ideal.

As for KP, fire that son of a bitch into the sun. And if his buddy Nick Sirianni wants to keep him, fire him too. I’ll say it if Jalen Hurts won’t.
