That Look Said It All: Jalen Hurts, Kevin Patullo, and the 2025 season ending in nothing but frustration

Call me soft. Call me a loser. Call me whatever you want. But I’m kind of relieved this Eagles season is over. And while we had all hoped this team could repeat as Super Bowl champions. We all should have known the writing was on the wall when Jalen Hurts was first asked about Kevin Patullo in the offseason.

Case and Point

There’s so much to break down from today’s loss and the loss of this season.

This team took years off my life. I swear I saw my first gray hair sometime around Week 11. I’m 26 years old. That’s not normal. And if we’re being honest with ourselves, there’s one main reason this season felt like an emotional hostage situation: Kevin. Patullo.

The San Francisco 49ers walked into Philly and walked out with a 23–19 Wild Card win, officially ending any dreams of a repeat championship run. And the worst part? They basically limped into this game as they were missing key starters all over the field.

Even with our disabled play-caller, Kevin Patullo, the Eagles had more than enough to make a statement. And unfortunately, like much of this season, they could never cease the moment.

Jalen was all of us last night. This offense was handicapped all year for a variety of reasons. But it all comes back to this awful play-caller. And if you’re going to spend time dissecting every Jalen Hurts throw, or talk about the offensive line, you lose me.

This NFL playoffs has proved how important coaching is. And the Eagles trotted into the postseason with the worst offensive coordinator by a long shot.

And honestly, I’m so worn out talking about this guy that I am frantically refreshing Twitter at work, just waiting for the Schefty tweet that the Eagles fired Kevin Patullo.
