Why the “Mike McDaniel chose Herbert over Hurts” narrative makes zero sense

Ever since Mike McDaniel signed on to be the OC out in Los Angeles, the nasty Fake News outlets have been pushing this narrative that he chose LA because he likes Justin Herbert more than Jalen Hurts — and that this somehow settles the debate on which QB is better.

Look, no one’s denying that being the OC in LA with Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert is a good gig. It’s solid. It makes sense for McDaniel, both personally and professionally.

But if you think this is some referendum on Jalen Hurts, you’re a moron.

Because last time I checked, Herbert also had Shane Steichen and Kellen Moore calling plays for him… and he didn’t win a playoff game with either of them.

We all know what those two did the second they got to Philly. Steichen helped guide Hurts and the Eagles offense to the Super Bowl, then turned it into a head coaching job the very next year. Moore came in and helped us win a Super Bowl, then also landed a head coaching gig.

So yeah… if your big takeaway from Mike McDaniel going to LA is “Herbert > Hurts,” you’re not watching football. You’re just doing propaganda.

Also, I’m pissed I didn’t think of this argument first, so shoutout to this guy on Twitter.

Mike McDaniel will probably still end up with the Eagles at some point, if history is any sort of indicator

Maybe Mike McDaniel does think Herbert is better than Hurts. That’s not out of the question.

It’s just pathetic how people use anything and everything as ammo against Jalen Hurts. Like seriously — what did that man ever do to you?

Give you the coldest line you’ve ever heard at a press conference? Make your wife a little hot and bothered when the Eagles are on?

Grow up, nerds.
