Eagles OC Search Update: Philly is the only team with a head coach still without an OC

Eagles are officially the last team in the NFL still looking for an offensive coordinator.

After the Buccaneers hired Zac Robinson, the Birds are now the only team with an existing head coach who still doesn’t have an OC in place. Everyone else has filled the job. Philly hasn’t. And yes, it’s noticeable.

This search is now heading into Week 2 with no clear hire yet.

Eagles OC Search Update: Who They’ve Interviewed

Philly has already interviewed a handful of legitimate candidates. Here’s the current list:

• Zac Robinson
• Josh Grizzard (former Buccaneers OC)
• Bobby Slowik (former Texans OC)
• Mike Kafka (former Giants OC)
• Jim Bob Cooter (current Colts OC)
• Matt Nagy

That’s a pretty wide range of experience, from former play callers to guys who have been around productive offenses and QB development situations.

What the Eagles Wanted Early

The Birds reportedly set their sights early on bigger names, including:

• Brian Daboll
• Mike McDaniel

So the organization pivoted into the interview-heavy phase, which is where things stand now.

Where the Eagles Search Stands Right Now

At the moment, Matt Nagy and Mike Kafka seem like the leading options — especially among candidates who don’t have ties to Nick Sirianni or his scheme.

That’s important, because it suggests the team could be leaning toward an outside voice rather than someone directly connected to Sirianni’s existing offensive identity.

Meanwhile, Jim Bob Cooter is described as a coach Sirianni could want, if Sirianni gets his way.

And the “under-the-radar” name in the mix?

That would be Bobby Slowik, who is still hanging around as a real possibility if the Eagles want a modern offense background and a fresh play-caller.

The Bottom Line for the Eagles

The Eagles are still searching, still interviewing, and still taking their time. It’s not a panic situation, but it is a situation.
