WATCH: Bryce Harper gives a shout out to Tacconelli’s, the best pizza in the North East
Bryce Harper has been under a microscope since the second Spring Training started, and most of it has centered around his very public back-and-forth with Phillies GM Dave Dombrowski.
During his appearance on Bussin’ With the Boys, Dombrowski’s comments obviously came up. But in true Bryce fashion, he also found time to shout out Tacconelli’s while talking about Philly pizza.
If you’ve never been to Tacconelli’s, consider this your sign. Call ahead, reserve your dough, and thank me later.
Bryce Harper shouts out the pride of North East Philadelphia
Angelo’s is basically everyone’s go-to answer when you ask about the best pizza at a cheesesteak spot in the city. And don’t get me wrong, it’s great. But places like Tacconelli’s are the ones that actually bake the heart of Philadelphia into every slice.
They’ve been around since 1918, and the second you walk in, you can feel it. It’s an old-school joint run by old-school Italians. That’s really all you need to know. The pizza is elite. Super thin. Super crunchy. And like I said earlier, you have to call ahead and reserve your dough. They only make what’s ordered. No slices sitting under a heat lamp all day. No nonsense. Just culinary gold.
To me, Tacconelli’s is the gold standard of Philadelphia pizza. Glad Bryce Harper knew enough to give them their flowers.
