Bryce Harper Under Armour Harper 10 Madhouse Cleats Jersey Shore Funhouse

Bryce Harper’s new cleats look like a Jersey Shore boardwalk funhouse and apparently, that’s the point

Bryce Harper just dropped his first signature cleat since re-signing with Under Armour, and they are a lot. The Harper 10 Madhouse features neon everything, TPU studs, Charged Cushioning, and a design concept pulled straight from Jersey Shore boardwalk culture, which according to John Clark, Harper was genuinely into early in his career.

The man loved the Shore. Now it’s a shoe.

Bryce Harper: Under Armour – Harper 10 MADHOUSE

Reactions online are all over the place. Some people are comparing them to Nickelodeon merch in a good way. Others are calling them childish and garish. Both groups are probably right and that seems to be the whole idea.

Personally, the loud colorways don’t really do it for me anymore. Maybe that’s just what getting older does to a person. You stop being excited about neon green and start caring about things like arch support and whether the shoe comes in a color that goes with more than one outfit.

The Madhouse cleats are not for me, and I’ve accepted that.

Here’s what actually matters: Under Armour is out here making real marketing noise around Bryce Harper, one of the best players in baseball and the face of a franchise that just keeps winning. It’s about time.

For years it felt like Harper could hit .300 with 40 home runs in October and Under Armour would respond with a mild social media post and a discount code. The fact that there’s genuine buzz around a signature shoe drop, that people are arguing about it, that it’s making the rounds, is exactly what this partnership should look like.

The kids are going to love these things. They’ll be all over Little League fields by June. And honestly, good. Let Bryce Harper be Bryce Harper, let the pandering boardwalk vibes fly, and let’s get to Spring Training.
