A first look at Jalen Hurts, Jordan 11 “Jawn Air” shoes which are rumored to drop later this year

Two Philly athletes dropping signature shoes in one day. Sure, why not. We got a first look at Jalen Hurts’ upcoming Air Jordan 11 “Jawn Air,” which are reportedly releasing later this year.

Green color-way, HURTS stamped on the bottom, Jalen Hurts’ personal logo included. They look pretty clean, genuinely. Not going to pretend otherwise.

The name though. Look, using “Jawn” in anything is about as Philadelphia as it gets, and for me, that’s exactly the problem.

It’s one of those words that works perfectly in conversation and falls apart the second someone tries to brand it. “Jawn Air” is the sneaker equivalent of a tourism poster that says “Yo, we’re Philly!”

It’s try-hard, and everyone in the city knows it even if they won’t say it out loud. The branding people absolutely loved that name in the meeting and that’s the most predictable outcome imaginable.

Regardless, none of that matters.

When you put Jordan Brand and Jalen Hurts, a Super Bowl winning quarterback in a pair of Eagles green shoes, the name could be almost anything and it would still sell out in within minutes. The HURTS detail on the sole is a nice touch. The logo works. The shoe looks good.

Jalen Hurts has earned every bit of this.

Would I wear them? Negative, but I’m also not the target audience and I’ve fully come to terms with that. These are going to move.
