Report: Eagles ‘keeping tabs’ on Maxx Crosby

With NFL free agency right around the corner, you’re going to see the Eagles “linked” to just about every big-name player available. That’s life when Howie Roseman is your general manager. The Eagles are always in the mix, or at least perceived to be.

Last offseason, it was Myles Garrett dominating the rumor mill. This year, it’s Maxx Crosby. His name has been floated as a potential trade target for the Birds more times than I can count.

Now NFL insider Albert Breer has added fuel to the fire. He believes a Crosby trade could happen as early as this week, and, unsurprisingly, the Eagles are one of the teams keeping tabs on the situation.

Obviously, I’d love to see Crosby in midnight green. It would cost a treasure trove of draft picks , maybe even a player or two. Don’t care. Crosby is the type of difference-maker you pay for and figure the rest out later.

Do I think it actually happens? Probably not. Mostly because it would contradict the earlier reporting about the Eagles prioritizing their own free agents over swinging big for outside additions. That’s been the theme all offseason.

But this is the NFL. Things change fast. All it takes is one phone call, one stalled negotiation, one shift in leverage, and suddenly the plan looks different. I wouldn’t bet on it, but with the Eagles and Howie Roseman, I’ve learned never to rule anything out completely.
