WATCH: Bomani Jones says he would take Kyler Murray over Jalen Hurts in one of the dumbest clips you’ll ever see on the internet
We made it this far into the NFL offseason without a genuinely embarrassing Jalen Hurts hot take and honestly, credit where it is due. That was a longer grace period than anyone expected. The streak is now dead and Bomani Jones is the one who killed it.
Bomani Jones went on his podcast this week and ranked Kyler Murray above Jalen Hurts as a quarterback. Not as a reclamation project with upside.
Not as a cheap option for a rebuilding team. Above Jalen Hurts.
The man who won the Super Bowl MVP in 2024. The man who led the Eagles to back-to-back NFC East championships and an 11-6 regular season in 2025. That Jalen Hurts.
This clip is complete and total rage bait and it should disqualify Bomani Jones from discussing NFL quarterbacks for at least the remainder of the calendar year.
Maybe longer.
Bomani Jones is an idiot for the Jalen Hurts rage bait
For context on the other side of this argument: Kyler Murray played five games in 2025. Five. The Arizona Cardinals finished 3-14. He finished with 962 passing yards, 6 TDs, and 3 INTs.
The Cardinals are releasing him on March 11th.
Kyler Murray own team decided they have seen enough and are moving on. This is the quarterback Bomani Jones believes is better than the reigning Super Bowl MVP.
The argument Jones made was built around arm talent and mobility and how Murray would theoretically fit with a contending team. That is a legitimate conversation to have about Murray as a cheap offseason pickup for a team looking to compete.
It has absolutely nothing to do with ranking him above Jalen Hurts in 2026.
Those are two entirely different discussions and Bomani Jones decided to blend them together because the resulting take was unhinged enough to generate exactly the kind of reaction it generated.
Hurts’ winning record, his leadership, his Super Bowl MVP, his back-to-back NFC East titles, all of it makes this a laughably one-sided conversation. The fact that it became a national debate for 48 hours is a testament to how good Bomani Jones is at packaging nonsense in a way that gets people to click.
Kyler Murray has real arm talent and he will find a home somewhere this offseason. He might even be serviceable for a team in the right situation.
The idea that he is a better quarterback than Jalen Hurts is not a football take. It is not analysis. It is not an argument made in good faith. It is a man saying something he knows is wrong on purpose to get people talking about him.
Mission accomplished Bomani. Now log off.
