Dak Prescott, fiancee Sarah Jane Ramos call off wedding while on a joint bachelor-bachelorette party in the Bahamas

We will get the obligatory joke out of the way immediately. Dak Prescott, famously unable to win a Super Bowl ring in the NFL, has now also failed to secure a wedding ring. The man simply cannot close when it matters most.

Okay. Now the actual story.

Dak Prescott and his fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos called off their wedding over the weekend, one month before they were supposed to get married.

According to TMZ, the relationship had been rocky behind the scenes for months and things finally came to a head during a massive argument at their joint bachelor and bachelorette party in the Bahamas. Ramos called it off. The two share two young kids, ages two and nearly ten months, and will move forward focused on co-parenting.

The joint bachelor/bachelorette party idea seems like a disaster from the start. I’m sure there are others who have been able to pull something like this off successfully but if you really stop and think about it, a joint party in the Bahamas at the same resort, a month before your wedding, in a relationship that was apparently shaky already seems like a wild move, right?

A pressure cooker just waiting to explode.

The whole point of a bachelor party is to let loose with your people, unplug for a weekend, and come back ready to commit. You do your thing, she does hers, you check in once or twice and otherwise enjoy the last few days of freedom.

Simple. Clean. No drama.

When you are constantly running into each other at the pool bar in Nassau with everyone watching, any tension that was already bubbling under the surface is going to find a way out and apparently it did.

Either way, Dak Prescott has the entire spring and summer to reset. The Cowboys season is a long time away. Plenty of time to regroup before he goes back to finding new and creative ways to disappoint people in January.
