He’s Back: Markelle Fultz signs 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors
Markelle Fultz is getting another NBA shot. The former number one overall pick in the 2017 draft has signed a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors, per Shams Charania of ESPN. He is 27 years old, which sounds impossibly young given how distant the entire Markelle Fultz saga feels at this point.

Markelle Fultz has been playing for the Raptors 905 G League affiliate this season, averaging 9.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game.
Markelle Fultz Game Winner in 2026:
His last NBA action came with the Sacramento Kings last season, 21 games at 8.8 minutes a night, 2.9 points. Before Sacramento there were four consecutive solid seasons with the Orlando Magic where he averaged double digits in scoring and five-plus assists consistently. That stretch was about as good as the Fultz story ever got after what happened in Philadelphia.
What happened in between the number one pick and the G League is one of the stranger NBA stories of the last decade. Markelle Fultz had a broken jumper. That is the cleanest way to say it.
Whether it was the injuries, the mental block, or some combination of both that nobody ever fully explained, he never got his shot back. The athleticism was always there. The playmaking instincts were always real.
The 28 percent career three-point shooting is what it is.
Yet Markelle Fultz is still going. Still getting his number called for a 10-day deal with a team fighting for playoff position. The guy is 27 and has been playing professional basketball for nine seasons and refuses to accept that his window is closed.
The Sixers got a lottery pick and some restless nights out of this whole thing. Markelle Fultz got a broken shot and a career’s worth of character for fighting through it. Now he’s back on a 10-day deal in Toronto. Let’s see what he does with it.

LOL watch him ball out.
