Eagles back at Toledo Pro Day trying to strike gold again after Quinyon Mitchell hit
The Eagles aren’t hiding what they’re doing here.
They found an All-Pro at Toledo in Quinyon Mitchell, and now they’re right back in the same building trying to do it again.
Philadelphia had a presence at Toledo’s Pro Day, zeroing in on multiple defensive backs as they continue stacking talent in the secondary heading into the 2026 NFL Draft.
Eagles scouting Toledo secondary again after Mitchell success
This isn’t random. The Eagles don’t just revisit small schools for fun. Mitchell went from “risky MAC pick” to arguably the best shutdown corner in football in two years. That changes how you scout a program.
So they went back to Toledo and did their homework on three names:
- Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
- Andre Fuller
- Nasir Bowers
They’ve already done some background work too, specifically with Fuller, who they spoke with at the East-West Shrine Bowl. This isn’t a late add. He’s been on their radar.
Eagles eyeing immediate help and long-term depth
McNeil-Warren is the big one.
He’s getting late first-round buzz and actually fits what the Eagles could use right now. The production is there, the versatility is there, and he’d walk into camp with a real shot to take a starting job at safety. If they’re serious about upgrading that spot, this is the type of swing they take.
Fuller and Bowers are different conversations.
They’re more Day 3-type guys. Developmental depth. But the Eagles have shown they’re willing to trust their evaluation process, especially with corners coming out of Toledo. Fuller in particular fits that mold as a steady cover guy, even if the turnover numbers aren’t flashy.
Bowers brings more ball production, but he’s likely viewed in that same depth tier.
Eagles clearly trust their scouting process here
This is the bigger takeaway.
The Eagles hit on Mitchell, and instead of overthinking it, they’re leaning into it. Same program, same position group, same type of evaluation bet.
That doesn’t mean they’re forcing a pick. But it does mean Toledo is now a school that has their full attention.
And honestly, it should.
Because if they hit on another one of these guys, we’re going to start talking about Toledo the same way people talk about Alabama or Georgia when it comes to defensive backs.
The Eagles don’t care where you play. If you can lock people down, they’ll find you.
They already did once. Now they’re trying to do it again.
