Mohegan Digital’s partnership with the Philadelphia Flyers is a sign of where Pennsylvania’s gaming market is heading

Pennsylvania’s online gaming market has been on a consistent upward trajectory and the numbers back it up.

The state’s online casino operators generated approximately $2.78 billion in revenue in 2025. January 2026 continued that momentum with $316.2 million in gross iGaming revenue, an 18 percent year-over-year increase from January 2025. It is a more immersive approach than traditional sponsorship, designed to embed the brand directly into the fan experience rather than just putting a logo on the boards.

The logic is straightforward. Flyers fans are already engaged with sports betting and online entertainment. Encountering the Mohegan brand in settings tied to something they genuinely care about builds trust and familiarity in a way that standalone advertising rarely achieves. Mohegan Digital has over 25 years of experience in the American market and knows how to convert that kind of awareness into actual platform engagement across social media, television, and mobile.

Guy Greene summed it up when the partnership was announced. He said the collaboration offered a great opportunity to expand visibility in the Philly market and that bringing the Flyers, one of the most storied franchises in pro hockey, into the fold was the right way to do it.

This is not an isolated move. BetMGM and other major operators have pursued similar multi-year partnerships with NHL teams and other franchises, using league broadcasts and arena exposure as acquisition channels rather than one-off promotional tools. The trend across Pennsylvania’s iGaming market is moving toward sports partnerships as a long-term positioning strategy, with brand visibility, fan affinity, and user onboarding converging in ways that standalone digital advertising cannot replicate.

With iGaming revenue up 11 percent in January 2026 and analysts projecting that online platforms will eventually surpass retail casino outlets in Pennsylvania, the operators investing in these kinds of partnerships now are positioning themselves for a significant share of what comes next.
