Brent Celek’s ex dating former Eagle Hollis Thomas is weird as hell, but more power to them

Brent Celek is in the news for a reason nobody had on their bingo card.

Celek’s ex-wife, Susie, went public this week with former Eagles defensive tackle Hollis Thomas, posting a video on social media that made the relationship official. And look, there’s really no need to fake some dramatic reaction here or pretend it’s some huge scandal.

But it is weird as hell.

Brent Celek is one of those guys Eagles fans will always respect. He spent his entire career here, won a Super Bowl here, and never really carried himself like someone chasing attention. So seeing his name attached to a story like this feels random enough on its own.

Then you add in the fact that the guy now dating his ex-wife is also a former Eagle, and yeah, people are obviously going to look at it sideways.

Maybe that’s unfair. Maybe it shouldn’t matter at all. These are grown adults, everybody has moved on, and there’s no indication anything shady happened. But when you keep it within the same extended Eagles universe, it’s always going to feel a little odd.

That’s just the truth.

That’s really the whole thing. Brent Celek has nothing to do with any of this beyond being the recognizable name tied to it, but that connection is the reason the story has legs in the first place.

If this were just some random couple on Facebook, nobody would care. But once you make it Brent Celek’s ex dating another former Eagle, it immediately becomes one of those “wait, what?” stories.

Not offensive. Not scandalous. Just weird.

And honestly, good for them. Seriously. If they’re happy, they’re happy. Nobody needs to fake outrage over two adults dating. Still doesn’t make it any less strange from the outside looking in.

That’s where most people probably land on this. Weird? Absolutely. End of the world? Not even close.
