UConn Duke Buzzer Beater Final 4 March Madness

WATCH: UConn reaches Final Four on wild buzzer beater to take down Duke

UConn was down 19 points. Duke was cruising. The game was over. Then it wasn’t.

Braylon Mullins drilled a logo three-pointer with 0.4 seconds left on the clock to give UConn a 73-72 win over the top overall seed in the tournament and send the Huskies to the Final Four for the third time in four seasons. The shot was an all-timer.

The sequence that made it possible was the kind of thing Duke fans are going to see every time they close their eyes for the next decade. Cayden Boozer had the ball. All he had to do was hold it. He turned it over. Mullins caught the inbound, took two dribbles, and launched it from the logo. The building lost its mind before it went in.

The comeback was the sixth largest in NCAA tournament history at 19 points. Duke became the first number one seed ever to lose a tournament game after leading by at least 15 points at halftime. Previously those teams were a perfect 134-0. Duke is now the asterisk.

We have covered multiple posts about hating Duke this tournament. The universe delivered. Cayden Boozer turned the ball over. Braylon Mullins hit a logo three. Duke is going home as the team that invented a brand new category of historic collapse. That is not a small thing.

UConn heads to Indianapolis for the Final Four. The last two times they were there they won the national championship. They face Illinois on Saturday night. Arizona and Michigan are on the other side of the bracket.
