Taryn Hatcher lands a new gig and we miss her terribly already

She told the Philadelphia Inquirer it has been the perfect fit opportunity and more fun than she could have anticipated. She serves as a reporter and interviews bowlers after their victories during Sunday broadcasts at 4 PM alongside former NASCAR announcer Rick Allen and former professional bowler Kyle Sherman.

Good for her. She deserves a platform and anyone who watched Phillies and Sixers coverage on NBCSP knows how good she was at her job.

Now let me say what everyone in Philadelphia is actually thinking.

Four games into the 2026 MLB season and Ben Davis is still employed on the broadcast team while Taryn Hatcher is covering bowling on the CW. Let that sink in for a second. Taryn Hatcher stole the hearts of this entire city.

The broadcasts were better with her in them. The interviews were better. Citizens Bank Park looked a million times better with her walking around it. Hell, my television looked a hell of a lot better too.

Taryn Hatcher brought a warmth and a professionalism to every segment that made the whole production feel like it belonged on a major market broadcast.

But hey, Ben Davis is still there. The universe is not always fair.

Taryn Hatcher also shared on Instagram that she received numerous job offers after her departure but chose short-term freelance work due to a health issue she needs to prioritize.

That is the right call and the Philadelphia sports community is rooting for her.

The PBA season runs through April 26. Go watch Taryn Hatcher cover bowling on the CW. She will be great at it because she is great at everything she does.
