WATCH: CB Bucknor delivers another viral clip, somehow worse than the ones before
We are not even a week into the 2026 MLB season and CB Bucknor is already a nightly social media event. Every single day there is a new clip. Every single day it is somehow worse than the one before it. The man is a content machine and not in the way he should be.
CB Bucknor – The Worst of All Time
The latest one is genuinely stunning. Bucknor called a runner out for missing a base. That is a ballsy call under any circumstances. You have to be absolutely certain to accuse a professional baseball player of missing a bag in the middle of a game. CB Bucknor made that call without looking at the bag. He was not watching the play. He just decided. Called it. Moved on.
The Brewers challenged it, obviously. The call was overturned because of course it was.
During that challenge review, both managers were spotted laughing in their respective dugouts. Both of them. On opposite sides of the field. United in disbelief at what they had just witnessed from a man who is employed to make these calls correctly.
CB Bucknor is cooked…
Again, we were just talking about Bucknor getting six of eight calls overturned by the ABS system in Cincinnati during Opening Weekend. That was embarrassing enough. Now he is missing plays at the bases that a person listening to the game on radio would have gotten right just by hearing the sound of the foot hitting the bag.
The craziest part might be the fact that I have literally written PAGES on how bad CB Bucknor has been over the years.
Could you imagine this happening in the pre-challenge era? The call stands. The game continues. The outcome potentially changes. Nobody can do anything about it.
The people who think replay and challenge systems take away from the beauty of baseball being a human game need to watch CB Bucknor umpire for three innings and then reassess that position.
At this point CB Bucknor is a danger to the integrity of the sport and the only thing stopping him from completely derailing games on a nightly basis is the ABS Challenge System. Something has to give. This is wild.
