Oilers fan gives birth Rodgers Centre

A woman gave birth at an Oilers game and that baby has no choice but to become the next ‘chosen one’

During the second period of Monday night’s Oilers game, a woman went into labor inside Rogers Place and gave birth at the arena. Play-by-play broadcaster Jack Michaels broke the news to viewers on the Sportsnet telecast mid-game. Just another night in Edmonton.

Edmonton Oilers fans literally always deliver.

I still get views on the article I wrote about the now infamous Kait who went viral for flashing everyone during the 2024 playoffs and ended up in Playboy. Our ad partners made me pull the video. The comments were unhinged. You already know about it if you know about it. The sickos still return to watch the vid, which is now hosted externally but you can probably find it right here.

Anyways, this story might actually top that.

Imagine being that pregnant, knowing you could go at any moment, and still deciding tonight is the night you go watch the Oilers play. Edmonton is not fighting for their playoff lives like the Flyers are.

They lead the Pacific Division and are comfortably locked into the postseason. This woman did not have to be there. She chose to be there. She chose hockey over the hospital. Respect that.

The Oilers got destroyed by Vegas in the game itself which only means the redemption arc started the exact second this kid entered the world.

Born inside Rogers Place during an NHL game. There is no scenario where this child does not become a professional hockey player. You cannot enter this world in those circumstances and not be the chosen one.

That is basically the hockey equivalent of the Virgin Mary giving birth in a manger. This kid was chosen before they took their first breath.

Congratulations to the family. Welcome to the world kid. The Oilers have a new fan for life and Canada has its next NHL star.

Go Flyers. Bryce, take it away baby.
