Sixers win regular season finale, will host the Magic in the play-in on Wednesday
Well, the Sixers did their part on Sunday. They dominated the Milwaukee Bucks 126-106 in the season finale at Xfinity Mobile Arena and finished the regular season at 45-37.
Tyrese Maxey led the way with 21 points in 27 minutes. Justin Edwards came off the bench and knocked down 5-of-8 from three for 17 points. Quentin Grimes shot 7-for-13 and finished with 20.

The Sixers needed Toronto to lose to Brooklyn and Orlando to lose to Boston. They got one of the two. The Raptors destroyed the Nets 136-101 and eliminated any chance of Philadelphia jumping to the sixth seed.
The Magic lost to a shorthanded Celtics team, which means the Sixers will host the first play-in game rather than playing on the road. That is the one piece of good news from Sunday night’s results.
The Philadelphia 76ers will host the Orlando Magic on Wednesday April 15th at 7:30 PM ET with the seventh seed on the line. Winner advances to the first round to face the second seed. Loser gets one more shot in the eight-nine play-in game on Friday April 17th at 7:30 PM ET.
The Sixers have been here before. Two years ago they hosted Miami in a play-in game for the seventh seed, won it, and advanced to the first round where they lost to the Knicks 4-2.
This time they are doing it without Joel Embiid, who is recovering from emergency appendix surgery with no confirmed return date. Maxey and George are going to have to carry this team through a one-game elimination setting and based on what they showed in Indiana on Friday and against Milwaukee on Sunday, they are capable of doing it.
The Magic won four of their last five games to finish at 45-36 and grab the seventh seed ahead of the Sixers. They are not a pushover. This is a real game with real stakes and the Sixers need to approach it accordingly.
