Howie Roseman calls out the Jalen Hurts reporting for what it is

Howie Roseman did what more people around the Eagles should have done by now and called this whole Jalen Hurts media circus exactly what it is: unfair and engagement farming.

Speaking before the draft, Roseman did not dance around the topic when asked about all the recent noise surrounding Hurts. He went straight at it.

“So for us, if we have any issue with any of our players, we talk to them directly,” Roseman said. “From my perspective, from Nick’s perspective, from Jeffrey’s perspective, we’re not hiding behind anything. We will talk to our players directly.”

That should have been the end of it right there.

Howie Roseman Was Right to Call It Unfair

Howie Roseman also said what Eagles fans have been saying since this nonsense started getting pushed into the timeline.

“I think that it’s unfair,” Roseman said. “It’s unfair to have these articles written, but I understand it’s also what sells at this point. So yeah, I think it’s unfortunate.”

Exactly.

That is the whole game now. Toss anonymous dirt into the air, frame it like some deep look into a quarterback’s future, and let everyone else argue about it for a week. Meanwhile, the guy being talked about has already been to two Super Bowls, won one, and continues to be treated like he is hanging on by a thread.

The funniest part is Roseman basically told everyone, without saying it outright, that if the Eagles had a real issue with Jalen Hurts, it would not need to be leaked and filtered through a dozen whispers. They would handle it like adults and talk to him directly.

Howie Roseman Just Said What Needed to Be Said

Howie Roseman calling this stuff out matters because too many people have tried to dress up obvious engagement bait as meaningful reporting. There are fair football questions about Hurts going into a new season with a new offensive coordinator. Nobody is denying that. But that is a lot different than trying to manufacture some dramatic crossroads story every other day.

Roseman saw what was happening and called a spade a spade.

That is what made his comments hit. No fluff, no corporate doublespeak, no fake concern. Just a pretty simple message: if the Eagles have something to say to Jalen Hurts, they will say it to his face.

And honestly, that should embarrass everyone still trying to sell this tired story like there is some massive secret falling out behind the scenes.
