Stateside Live set to unveil venue expansion on May 29 with a free Taking Back Sunday concert

Stateside Live is set to unveil a brand new look on Friday, May 29, and the expansion looks like a serious upgrade from the old Xfinity Live days.

The South Philly venue went through a $20-plus million renovation and they’re unveiling the whole thing with a free concert featuring Taking Back Sunday, Mayday Parade, and Bayside. Doors open at 5 p.m. and free tickets become available on April 17. Go get them because this is not just a rename and a fresh coat of paint. They went all in.

The expansion includes a new two-story AVA Rooftop Bar, the Blue Moon Beer Garden, the PBR Backyard, and a brand-new Coors Light Stage built for concerts and large outdoor events.

The whole setup is clearly aimed at turning Stateside Live into a full-time entertainment destination in the Sports Complex instead of just the place you roll into before and after games. They’re positioning it as a year-round spot for live music, sports watching, festivals, and nightlife. That’s a pretty major shift from what this place used to be.

Stateside Live Is Kicking Things Off With a Weekend-Long Celebration

The grand opening is part of a full weekend-long celebration. They’re treating this like an actual launch, not just another Friday night on the calendar. And getting Taking Back Sunday to headline the opening night for free is a strong move to get people through the door, especially with the new outdoor concert setup ready to go.

For a venue sitting right in the middle of the South Philly Sports Complex, this feels like the kind of investment that could make Stateside Live a go-to stop all summer long.

If the execution matches the money they put into it, this place is going to be a much bigger player in Philly’s entertainment scene than it ever was before.
