Jalen Hurts appears to be summoning a Dark Lord is his most recent Twitter post
Jalen Hurts posted a new picture on Twitter, and it looks like he’s halfway through a ritual to bring some ancient evil back into the world.
The photo is insane. His face is buried in shadow. The black and white filter makes it look worse in the best way. He’s standing there like he just walked out of a sealed chamber under the NovaCare Complex after spending 500 years learning forbidden football knowledge.
So now we have to ask the only thing that matters here.
Which Dark Lord is Jalen Hurts trying to summon?
Based on the very serious and extremely important Dark Lord mythos, a true Dark Lord usually rules over darkness and chaos, carries a huge hunger for power, and tends to be the kind of figure who was already defeated once but never fully destroyed. Their presence alone messes with the world around them. That all feels very on brand for the vibe Jalen Hurts brought with this picture.
That’s why Sauron feels like the cleanest answer.
Sauron is one of the classic Dark Lords. He’s tied to shadow, destruction, and the kind of evil that leaves a stain on the whole world around it. He was beaten down, not erased, and still had enough presence to ruin everybody’s day. That lines up pretty well with this picture of Jalen Hurts looking like he’s about to return from exile and make the NFC miserable for four straight months.
You could make a case for Morgoth if you want to go even bigger. Morgoth was the first Dark Lord, the original problem, the one who wrecked everything and left permanent damage behind. But that feels a little too dramatic, even for this photo. Hurts looks menacing here, not like he’s trying to end creation itself.
Mara is another option if you want to get weird with it. That figure is tied to temptation, mental warfare, and keeping people from reaching enlightenment. There’s something funny about imagining Hurts summoning Mara just to make every Cowboys fan spend the season in confusion and despair. But visually, this picture feels less mind game and more full blown return of the king of darkness.
So yeah, Sauron is the pick.
Jalen Hurts looks like a guy calling on an old power that never fully left, one that brings darkness, chaos, and a bad time for everyone standing in the way. It looks like the kind of photo you post right before opening a portal over South Philly and throwing 30 touchdowns.
The funniest part is he probably just thought the picture looked tough. He was right. It does. But it also looks like he’s about to send a plague across the NFC East.

I’m all in on Dark Lord Hurts.
