WATCH: Jeff Stoutland explains what went wrong with 2025 Eagles, points to play calling and execution

Jeff Stoutland is no longer on the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff, which means he can now speak freely about whatever he wants, including what went wrong with the Birds last season.

For anyone with eyes, what Stoutland said should not be a surprise. The problems were pretty easy to spot. But instead of talking about the actual issues like normal people, the local and national media spent the season trying to make everything about Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown.

Couldn’t be further from the truth.

It’s execution. It’s calling the right play at the right time and not running bad plays into bad defenses. It ain’t that hard.”

Yep. That about sums it up.

People love to overcomplicate football. At its core, it’s a pretty simple game. It’s basically human chess. Just put your athletes in positions to succeed and watch it unfold. For some reason, Kevin Patullo decided to do the exact opposite of that all season.

A lot of people are going to read these Jeff Stoutland comments as a direct shot at Kevin Patullo. Honestly, they probably are, along with Nick Sirianni, who let this bullshit happen the entire season.

Stout made a point about execution too, but that’s a given. Players gotta play the game and make plays. It’s just way harder to do that when you have an incapable play caller.

I wish Stoutland nothing but the best in his post-Eagles life. He’ll always be a legend in this city.
