Bravo: Mike Vrabel receives standing ovation from Patriots fans after cheating on his wife for 6+ years, potentially fathering illegitimate children with his mistress, and being a huge distraction for the team

The New England Patriots held a season ticket holder event today and invited standup human being Mike Vrabel to speak to the crowd.

Before he even sat down, the Patriots faithful erupted in applause. Not just because he’s a great coach, but because he cheated on his wife for six-plus years and got away with it.

Some things are just bigger than football.

It takes courage to cheat on your wife with another public figure and potentially father illegitimate children with her. People forget that. But evidently, the great people of New England have not.

They understand the struggles of a man trying to navigate the topsy-turvy world of being an NFL head coach. They had Bill Belichick for two decades. He wasn’t cheating on his wife at the time, to our knowledge, but he was cheating on the field. Which, let’s face it, takes more balls than what Mike Vrabel did.

It’s just The Patriot Way, you know? I wouldn’t expect the people continuously harping on Vrabel and Dianna Russini to understand. They’ll never feel the thrill of banging a reporter and then feeding her information to publicly drive down the value of a player they want.

I can only dream of being in that situation one day. To publicly embarrass my wife and family, only for a room full of absolute freaks to cheer me on. What a power trip that must be.

Good on them for standing up for what’s right. In a world of wickedness, the righteous must stand against those who bash their head coach for being a bad person. No matter the cost. No matter the public perception. Godspeed, Mike Vrabel. You’re a God damn hero.
