Ronald McDonald sang the National Anthem at a Charlotte Knights game and it was genuinely beautiful

The Charlotte Knights had Ronald McDonald sing the national anthem at the ballpark and I need everyone to stop what they’re doing and watch this clip immediately.

People online were acting shocked by the performance. I wasn’t surprised in the slightest. I know damn well Ronald McDonald is an American patriot. The man has been serving this country one Big Mac at a time for decades.

So yeah, of course he has pipes. You don’t become the face of the most American fast food chain in history without having some star-spangled talent hiding behind that red wig and face paint.

That performance was fucking beautiful.

So beautiful I almost cried as I stood up from my couch, took off my Phillies hat, and put my right hand over my heart. Full commitment. Full respect. Ronald McDonald earned every second of it.

Burgers, baseball, and the red white and blue. Can’t get much better than that. This is everything that’s great about minor league baseball. You go to a Charlotte Knights game on a random weeknight and Ronald McDonald comes out and belts the national anthem like he’s performing at the Super Bowl. No backup singers needed. Just a clown, a microphone, and the greatest country on earth.

Somebody get this man to Citizens Bank Park immediately. If the Phillies are going to keep climbing out of this hole, they need all the patriotic energy they can get. Ronald McDonald singing the anthem before a Phillies game at the Bank would be the most electric pregame moment of the season and I’m not even joking.
