Arcadia, California mayor Eileen Wang admits she was acting as foreign agent for China in plea deal
Eileen Wang, the mayor of Arcadia, California, has been charged with acting as an illegal foreign agent for China. She agreed to plead guilty. The Justice Department announced it on Monday and the details are genuinely insane.
Starting in late 2020, Wang and her fiancé Yaoning “Mike” Sun operated a website called U.S. News Center that claimed to be a news source for the local Chinese-American community. In reality, it was a propaganda outlet for the People’s Republic of China. I like to think that Yaoning “Mike” Sun thought he wouldn’t get caught because he went by “Mike” because that would be even more hilarious.
Eileen Wang and Yaoning Sun received directives from PRC government officials telling them what to post, when to post it, and sometimes sought approval before circulating additional pro-China content.
Eileen Wang was a Chinese Spy…
Side Note: The NY Post picture is CRAZY compared to what Chinese Spy Eileen Wang actually looks like. Not even sure they are the same person? Spy Games, Baby.
So yeah, they were running a fake news operation on American soil at the direction of a foreign government. Crazy right? Meanwhile Mossad agents have offices in the Pentagon but that’s a story for another day.
The Details Are Worse Than the Headline
You need to read how deep this goes because the timeline is staggering.
Her fiancé Mike Sun ran her City Council campaign. He’s already serving four years in federal prison on the same charge. Prosecutors say Chinese officials cultivated Wang specifically, hoping she’d rise in U.S. politics.
PRC handlers sent her pre-written propaganda through WeChat. She’d post it on the fake news site within minutes and send the link back for confirmation. “So fast, thank you everyone,” her handler wrote after one post went up.
One article Eileen Wang posted on command denied the Xinjiang genocide. On August 20, 2021, she texted “Thank you leader” to her PRC handler after being praised for a post that hit 15,000 views. The chain ran up to John Chen, a PRC intelligence official who personally met Xi Jinping and attended military parades. “This is what the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wants to send,” Wang once told him about an article she wanted to circulate.
Eileen Wang was elected to the Arcadia City Council in 2022. By 2023, she was mayor. A woman who was texting “Thank you leader” to Chinese intelligence officials in 2021 became the mayor of an American city a year later. She never disclosed the relationship to the attorney general as required by law.
Wang is a Democrat who switched from the Republican Party ahead of her 2022 City Council win. ABC’s report on the charges didn’t mention party affiliation, which is a common editorial choice in federal case coverage. A lot of people were asking what party, so make of that what you will.
On That Note, The Liberty Line Is Open for Business
Not even in relation to the spy charges but to the fact that this woman owned a media company and the CCP came knocking with sweet boatloads of cash for her to spread propaganda.
That truly is the American dream.
A fake news site getting funded by a foreign government to push content that advances their geopolitical agenda while pretending to be local community journalism. If anyone from the CCP is reading this, The Liberty Line is open for business.
I’ll post whatever you want as long as it doesn’t conflict with the Phillies or the Process. My WeChat DMs are open.
I’m kidding. Mostly.
California Cannot Stop Getting Duped
Californians have to be collectively the dumbest cohort of humans in the United States to keep getting caught up in these situations over and over again. Every few months there’s a new story about Chinese intelligence operations running freely in California and everyone acts surprised like it hasn’t been happening for decades.
The state is a playground for foreign intelligence and the people running it are either too incompetent or too compromised to do anything about it.
The Assistant Attorney General said it best. “It is deeply concerning that someone who previously received and executed directives from PRC government officials is now in a position of public trust at all, but particularly so because that relationship with that foreign government had never been disclosed.”
No kidding.
A Chinese asset became the mayor of an American city. That should terrify everyone regardless of political affiliation.
Remember Arcadia? The Baby Farm City?
If Arcadia sounds familiar, it should. Last summer, police in Arcadia stumbled onto a $4 million mansion at 612 W. Camino Real Avenue while investigating a child abuse case involving a 2-month-old with a traumatic head injury.
Inside they found 15 children ranging from 2 months to 13 years old. Six more had been moved to other homes. All 21 children were confirmed to belong to 65-year-old Guojun Xuan and 38-year-old Silvia Zhang. Seventeen of the 21 kids were 3 years old or younger.
The children were all products of a surrogacy operation called Mark Surrogacy Investment, LLC, registered in February 2025 and owned by Zhang and Xuan. The surrogate mothers were told the couple only had one other child.
The FBI got involved. The nanny, 56-year-old Chunmei Li, was identified as the main suspect in the child abuse case and fled. The parents were arrested for felony child endangerment and released.
“That to me smells of trafficking, child trafficking,” said Kallie Fell, executive director of the Center for Bioethics and Culture. “What are the intentions of having that many children at home through these assisted reproductive technologies?”
I Wouldn’t Be Surprised if All of This Is Connected
The mayor was a Chinese spy running a propaganda outlet. The baby farm was a surrogacy operation with possible trafficking implications. Both happened in Arcadia, a city of 60,000 people that borders Pasadena.
Word on the street is that Arcadia has become a place where Chinese nationals buy large homes that stand empty. Lots of them. Some reportedly used for trafficking. Some reportedly used as birthing homes for Chinese nationals so the babies become American citizens.
The San Gabriel Valley apparently has a lot of hidden secrets. I don’t like any of it.
A Chinese intelligence asset became the mayor of the same city where the FBI is investigating a baby farm with 21 surrogate children. Maybe it’s all a coincidence. Maybe the spy mayor and the baby farm in the same small California city have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
Or maybe Arcadia, California is one of the most compromised cities in the United States and nobody has been paying attention until now. The world is a wild place these days. Pay attention.

TBH surprised China didn’t accomplish more; this person was essentially a nobody. Meanwhile the USA captures dictators your top spies become small town mayors who barely do anything. I would expect this from North Korea but Chine??? Shame! China could have done more damage if they simply made a podcaster.
LOL China**
