Madden 27 is finally adding the Tush Push

Madden is finally doing something right. They’ve added the Tush Push to this year’s game.

The debate around the Tush Push has been a lot quieter this offseason compared to last year. I don’t think a single media member has really brought it up, and the league hasn’t taken another run at banning it. That probably has something to do with the Eagles not winning the Super Bowl this year, so the NFL doesn’t feel the need to step in and slow down the league’s next dynasty. But that’s neither here nor there.

Madden 27 is finally adding the play to the game, which feels about three years late. Still, late is better than never. Madden has become like every other sports game at this point. People pay for a roster update, a few cosmetic changes, and a slightly different menu screen. This year’s version probably won’t feel all that different from last year’s, or the year before that.

Nevertheless, it’s cool to see the Eagles’ signature play finally make its way into the only NFL simulation video game on the market.

The developers are also adding a QB sneak meter to make sure the play isn’t automatic every time someone runs it.

It’s a smart idea, though I’m sure it’ll need some tweaking once the game actually releases. There are absolutely going to be players who run the Tush Push every chance they get. I’ll respect the commitment, but I don’t think the average Madden player is going to be thrilled about getting spammed with it all game.
