WATCH: DeVonta Smith laughs off the idea of Commanders CB Trey Amos locking him up as WR1

DeVonta Smith and his former teammate AJ Brown participated in Christian Gonzalez’s charity basketball tournament over the weekend.

With a bunch of players and influencers in attendance, the vibe was surprisingly normal. There didn’t seem to be any weirdness between AJ and DeVonta Smith at all. That is, until one small exchange involving the two of them and Twitch streamer JankyRondo.

Now, this JankyRondo fella actually plays a pretty pivotal role in the AJ Brown lore. For starters, he’s a Commanders fan who has made numerous videos urging the Eagles to trade AJ so Washington doesn’t have to deal with him anymore. He also hosted Brown on his stream during this past season, which is where Brown told his fantasy football managers to get rid of him, laughed when someone in the chat wrote “fire KP,” and told the world the Eagles offense was a “shit show.”

So, suffice to say, Rondo and Brown have stayed pretty close.

During the tournament, while Rondo was livestreaming with Brown standing next to him, Brown asked who was going to lock up Smitty now that AJ is gone. Rondo answered with Trey Amos.

Smitty wasn’t having any of it.
