There’s only one Phillies fan that deserved the home run ball and it’s the guy in the Eagles jersey
Two Phillies fans are going crazy viral Tuesday morning over who could rightfully claim ownership of a home run ball that landed in the seats of Citizens Bank Park. I will break this down but the answer itself, is easy.
Basically, home run hit into the stands, Phillies hat guy tosses his hat up in attempt to catch it, and by the grace of god, the baseball lands in his hat. Did he mean to catch it in his hat? I would say no. In fact, it looked like the most unatheltic attempt to catch a baseball in the history of these types of videos.
From there, the guy with the baseball hat completely lost control of said hat, the ball pops out and mid-air, comes an Eagles jersey wearing Phillies fan, taking the ball in the hair into his hands like he was truly Cooper DeJean.
Phillies hat guy, which shoutout to him to be so blissfully ignorant and to lack that level of self-awareness, then tells the Eagles jersey guy that the baseball is his. For whatever reason, probably because its a home run ball and these are grown men now on the brink of an altercation, the Eagles jersey guy gives this idiot the home run ball.
Eagles jersey and Phillies fan argue over the foul ball
Honestly, if you are siding with the Phillies hat guy then you’re an idiot. In no way is that his baseball. Sorry brother, you threw your hat up there, the ball ended up in it. The more impressive part is the Eagles jersey guy who then caught the ball mid-air while Phillies hat guy lost control.
Eagles jersey guy was disgusted, I am too

Look at the Eagles jersey guy’s face. He couldn’t believe that he was even being asked about it. The audacity of even asking for the baseball, let alone demanding it, is absolutely insane behavior. Over here in the sports world, we call that a drop and/or a fumble because Phillies hat guy didn’t secure the ball. It’s really simple.
Eagles Shirt Guy Deserved This. No Debate.
Then of course, the Baseball Gods try to repent for the Eagles jersey guy. They handed him ANOTHER home run ball but he couldn’t bring that one either. That’s rough. I can’t defend him in that situation. My thought he was just too pissed off about the first one that the second had him second guessing everything.
Either way, tough break all around. Next time, if the Phillies hat guy wants to claim ownership of a home run ball, don’t throw your hat up and pray. Catch that shit with authority and make damn sure everyone knows it’s yours. Dork.

Fans like him need to re-think their lives.
