Miami Heat accidentally post ‘LeBron James Introductory Press Conference’ livestream to YouTube for July 27th before quickly deleting it

The Miami Heat have been one of the top teams in the LeBron James sweepstakes since they started. On Tuesday night, their social media team “accidentally” posted a YouTube livestream scheduled for July 27th titled, “LeBron James Introductory Press Conference.”

Obviously, a ton of people saw it, and the Heat even ran to Shams Charania to cover their asses.

The Miami Heat accidentally posted, then deleted, a scheduled YouTube livestream titled “LeBron James Introductory Press Conference” for July 27.

A team spokesperson told @ShamsCharania the link was mistakenly published while preparing for a possible James signing.…

According to team representatives, their social media team was just preparing for the possibility of James signing with them, so they wanted to get the livestream all setup before hand. Alright, sure.

There’s nothing wrong with being a little proactive. You, as the social media team, should be prepared for the possibility of James signing. That doesn’t usually entail setting up a livestream on a specific date and titling it “LeBron James Introductory Press Conference.”

What if LeBron does end up signing in Miami and they do have the introductory press conference on July 27th? Does anyone comes back to this and care? I guess they technically didn’t do anything wrong. Still weird and I still don’t like it.
