Sixers are set to bring back upgraded parchment ‘Phila’ uniforms for the 2026-27 City Editions

The full leak of the Sixers’ 2026-27 City Edition uniforms are basically confirmed at this point and I’ll just say it right up front that these are sick.

Philadelphia is bringing back the parchment “Declaration of Independence” design from the 2017-18 season, and it’s one of the best decisions the franchise has made off the court in years, which is saying something given that they just signed LeBron James.

I’ve always loved the parchment look. It’s one of the few City Edition designs that actually means something instead of just slapping a random color scheme together and calling it a tribute.

The parchment base, the classic blue and red trim, the whole aesthetic rooted in the Declaration of Independence, it’s clean, it’s historic, and it’s unmistakably Philadelphia.

I’m a total sucker for the “Unite or Die” phrase that ties into the whole thing, because there’s no better slogan for a franchise that literally plays in the city where this country was founded.

Unite or die. Perfect for the 76ers. Perfect for Philadelphia.

Sixers City Edition – 10 Year Anniversary

There’s also a slick little wrinkle to this release. The 2026-27 season marks the 10-year anniversary of Nike’s NBA City Edition program, and to mark the occasion, the Sixers’ uniform swaps the standard Nike logo for a shiny, aluminum-colored Swoosh.

Small detail, but it’s a cool one, and it suggests the entire league’s City Edition collection this year might lean into anniversary throwbacks, potentially bringing back a bunch of classic designs from the program’s first decade.

If that’s where the league is headed, the Sixers reviving the parchment look is the perfect way to lead the charge, because it was one of the best City Edition uniforms the program ever produced the first time around.

The Timing Could Not Be Better

Here’s what makes this hit even harder. The Sixers are bringing back their best-ever City Edition design in the exact same season that LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe are all going to be wearing it. That parchment jersey is going to be on national television constantly, worn by a legitimate title contender, in front of the most fired-up Philadelphia fanbase in decades.

That’s a merchandising bonanza waiting to happen. These jerseys were popular the first time around when the roster was nowhere near this good.

Now they’re back on a team loaded with stars and stamped with a special anniversary Swoosh, which means every LeBron, Embiid, and Maxey jersey in that colorway is going to disappear off the shelves. You’re going to see the parchment everywhere next season, and honestly, it’s going to look incredible under the lights at Wells Fargo Center.

Bring Back the Classic, Add the King, Unite or Die

The Declaration of Independence design was always a perfect fit for the city where America was born, and reviving it for the 10-year City Edition anniversary is exactly the right move at exactly the right time.

Pair the best uniform the franchise has ever put out with the best roster it’s had in a generation and you’ve got something special before the season even tips off.

Parchment base. Classic Philly colors. “Unite or die.” A shiny anniversary Swoosh. And LeBron James wearing all of it while chasing the first title since 1983.

These are a problem in the best possible way. Take my money. I’ll take three.
