Trea Turner Laser Pointer

WATCH: Umpire forced to stop the game after Trea Turner was hit with a green laser from the crowd

We’ve got a strange one. During Tuesday’s game, an umpire actually had to stop play when Trea Turner didn’t even realize someone in the crowd had a green laser pointed directly at him.

My first question, my only question really, is who on earth brings a laser pointer to a baseball game in 2026?

Trea Turner hit with a LASER

Bizarre behavior all around and I’ll be honest, for a split second my mind went to a very dark place. When I first saw the laser, I genuinely thought someone had come completely unhinged over Trea Turner’s 18 errors and had him dead to rights out there.

Thank God that wasn’t the case, because could you imagine?

I’m not a narc by any stretch, but I don’t think it’s crazy to say that if someone actually pointed something dangerous at a player, that person could be looking at serious charges so let’s be grateful it was just some clown with a laser pointer and nothing worse.

Great call by the umpire to stop the game and get it handled. That’s exactly the right move, protecting the players first and figuring out the rest later. You can’t have anybody pointing a laser at a guy trying to field his position, no matter how harmless the intent might have been.

Trea Turner was dead to rights

Luis Arraez was all over it btw

Of course he was. The new guy is already making sure his infield is intact and safe out there, which is yet another form of protection we apparently get from Luis Arraez.

The man debuts with two hits, brings the electric energy, and now he’s providing backup surveillance from the bench, keeping an eye out for his guys.

If Tuesday was any indication, and yes, I know it was just the Nationals, the cleanup spot is in phenomenal hands, and now we’ve got Arraez running point on dugout security too.

What a signing.

Luis Arraez is an absolute lunatic at the dish and it’s exactly what the Phillies have been missing >>

Hey Fans, Stop Being a Dorks

Here’s the simple message. Don’t bring a laser to a baseball game. It’s weird, it’s dangerous, and it stops the action for everyone. If you are going to bring a laser, especially don’t do it in South Philly, and don’t point it at Trea Turner, one of our guys, because this is not the fanbase or the city to test on that kind of nonsense.
