Jaylen Brown destroyed every narrative surrounding Joel Embiid over the past month and the media should be embarrassed

I want everyone to remember what I said over the past month about the media and their flat-out LIES regarding Joel Embiid.

Remember the narratives? Embiid was a “bad teammate.” Embiid doesn’t reach out to guys like Jaylen Brown and LeBron James. Embiid was going to be traded and the Sixers would be better off without him. LeBron didn’t want to come to Philadelphia because of Embiid. On and on it went, a full month of manufactured nonsense designed to farm engagement and tear down one of the best players in the league.

I told you it was all bullshit. Every last word of it. And now, straight from the mouth of Jaylen Brown himself, here’s the confirmation.

Jaylen Brown Just Blew Up the Entire Narrative

As the Sixers move forward with this completely overhauled roster, the biggest storyline everyone wanted to obsess over was the supposed tension between Brown and Embiid, especially after Brown went on his stream during the playoffs and called Embiid a flopper.

The media treated that like it was going to be some unfixable rift that would tear the locker room apart. So what did Brown actually say when asked about his relationship with the big fella?

“It’s been good. Me and Joel been friends throughout the years. We have mutual respect. He loves soccer. I love soccer. So, we talk about that a lot and stuff like that. He reached out, too, when I got traded. He reached out the same day. I talked to him on the phone.”

Read that again. Joel Embiid reached out to Jaylen Brown the SAME DAY he got traded. Called him.

Talked to him on the phone. That is the exact opposite of everything the media spent a month telling you. The “bad teammate” who “doesn’t reach out to anybody” was the first guy on the phone welcoming Brown to Philadelphia.

Funny how that works, right?

It Goes Deeper Than That

Brown didn’t stop there. He made it crystal clear that this group is already tight and already grinding together behind the scenes.

“We talk damn near every day, almost. We have group chats, multiple now, and we’re all trying to figure this thing out. LeBron, he’s active in the group chat. So, we’re just trying to all get on the same page.”

Multiple group chats. Talking nearly every single day. LeBron active in the group chat. That’s not a fractured locker room. That’s not a bad-teammate situation. That’s a group of professionals who are genuinely locked in on building something together, and it obliterates every single lie that got peddled about Embiid over the last month.

The flopper comment? Chalk it up to playoff emotions, the kind of thing that gets said in the heat of a Game 7 series and forgotten the second the guys are on the same side. And let’s not forget, Brown DEFENDED Embiid down the stretch of that very Game 7 in Boston, the game Embiid then carried Philadelphia to in order to eliminate the Celtics.

The Media Owes Joel Embiid an Apology

This is exactly what I’ve been screaming about. The Philadelphia sports media ecosystem, and the national one too, spent weeks building narratives out of thin air because a healthy, engaged, connected Joel Embiid doesn’t generate the same clicks as a fractured, dysfunctional, on-his-way-out Joel Embiid.

They wanted the drama. They invented the drama. And now the actual players are on record saying none of it was true.

Joel Embiid reached out to Brown the day of the trade. The group chats are active. LeBron’s in them. Everybody’s grinding together and building the chemistry the right way, from the foundation up, not skipping steps, exactly like Brown described.

That’s a locker room that’s aligned and ready to chase a championship, not the toxic mess the talking heads promised you.

Trust The Process, Never The Rage Bait

Let this be a lesson, and let it stick. When the media spends a month relentlessly hammering the same negative narrative about a Philadelphia star, especially one as accomplished as Joel Embiid, take it with a giant grain of salt.

The engagement machine runs on manufactured conflict, and Embiid has been one of its favorite targets for years. They were wrong about him not wanting to play with LeBron. They were wrong about the Brown relationship. They were wrong about him being a bad teammate.

They were wrong about all of it, just like I said they were.

The MVP is engaged, connected, and fully bought in. The group chats are buzzing. LeBron’s in them. And the Sixers are building something real while the people who lied about Embiid quietly move on to their next fabricated storyline.
